I have seen many people utter repeatedly these words of faith either quietly or calmly in their mouth during the elevation.
Nevertheless, it is very important to know why one must pay attention to the homily. Basically, we need to keep our hearts and minds open with faith, so as to grasp and personalize what God shares with us. Just like a large piece of bread is broken to feed individual persons, the Word of God is broken so that it could be received and digested by the People of God.
